a) PUBLIC HEARING - Conduct a public hearing to consider Tehama County General Plan Amendment (GPA #25-01); incorporation the Local Hazard Mitigation Plan

 

b) Move that the Board of Supervisors find that the project is exempt from CEQA pursuant to CEQA guidelines Section 15061 (b)(3) and adopt the findings relative to CEQA in the staff report and as contained in the Board of Supervisors Resolution (Attachment A)

 

c) Move that the Board of Supervisors adopt the Tehama County Safety Element Amendment (GPA #25-01) incorporating the Local Hazard Mitigation Plan and Resolution with findings as contained in Attachment A

Background Information:

On September 17, 2025 the Planning Commission moved to recommend that the Board of Supervisors find that the project is exempt from CEQA pursuant to CEQA guidelines 15061 (b)(3) and adopt the finding relative to CEQA in the staff report and as contained in the Board of Supervisors Resolution ( Attachment A) and move to recommend the Board of Supervisors adopt the findings and approve the GPA #25-01 Tehama County Safety Element Amendment.

 

The Safety element of the General Plan is mandated component designed to reduce risks from various hazards like floods, fires, and earthquakes.  The General Plan Amendment #25-01 is a countywide project amending the County’s Safety Element to incorporate the 2025 Local Hazard Mitigation Plan (LHMP) 2025 serves as an update to the local agencies and districts ongoing efforts in hazard mitigation planning.
