Requested Action(s)

recommendation

a)                      AGREEMENT - Request approval and authorization for the Executive Director to sign the Employment Agreement with Ashton Kinyon, FNP, for the position of a full-time Nurse Practitioner, effective 9/1/24 and shall terminate 8/31/29

body

Financial Impact:

Funding is approved in the Clinic Division's annual budget (40251). Total base salary for the first year is $116,775.00/year. Any percentage increases in salary for all classifications represented by the Joint Council Bargaining Unit would increase Ms. Kinyon's compensation by an equal percentage.

Background Information:

This is a new agreement with Ms. Kinyon to perform the functions and duties of a full-time Nurse Practitioner with the Medical Clinic, Juvenile Detention Facility and Jail. The Department has met with Ms. Kinyon and both parties have agreed to the salary and benefits and all terms and conditions contained in the agreement. This is a contract, overtime exempt position.

In the event the County and the Joint Council Bargaining Unit agree to a percentage increase in salary for all classifications represented by the Joint Council Bargaining Unit, Ms. Kinyon's salary will be increased by an equal percentage.

Without Board of Supervisor approval, Medical Clinic patients may not have access to advanced practitioner services in a timely manner and the Agency would have to start a new recruitment process for a nurse practitioner, which can be a lengthy process.
