body

Financial Impact:

The final total contract amount for the Jellys Ferry Road Sacramento River Bridge Replacement Project was $41,734,669.57. The project was funded through a combination of Federal-Aid Highway Bridge Program funds and State Proposition 1B funds.

There are no funding impacts.

Background Information:

The work included demolition of the existing Sacramento River Bridge (Co. Bridge No. 08C0043), construction of the new Sacramento River Bridge (Co. Bridge No. 08C0374), construction of the new Sacramento River Overflow Bridge (Co. Bridge No. 08C0378), realignment of approximately 3,700 feet of Jelly’s Ferry Road, and improvements to the existing Bureau of Land management facilities. The contract was awarded to MCM Construction, Inc. on November 5, 2019, in the amount of $35,174,305.65.  In addition to contract work, 48 Contract Change Orders were issued in the amount of $6,560,363.92 for a total contract amount of $41,734,669.57. Work was completed in compliance with the contract and all state and federal requirements on October 19, 2022. The replacement of the Jelly’s Ferry Road Bridge at the Sacramento River with a new bridge that meets current design standards eliminates the need for local speed reductions and load limitations on Jelly’s Ferry Road at the Sacramento River.

Resolution No. 2017-6 limiting the maximum weight of vehicles for the Jellys Ferry Road at the Sacramento River Bridge (Co. Bridge No. 08C0043) is not effective as Co. Bridge No. 08C0043 no longer exists.
