b) Request approval to apply the provision outlined in Section 2: Sick Leave Accrual retroactively for the following elected officials:

Financial Impact:
There is no immediate financial impact for approving the resolution establishing benefits of County of Tehama Department Heads. However, there is a financial impact for retroactively approving Section 2 for the five employees listed, which will be a one-time cost of $44,669.26.

Background Information:
Tehama County Personnel Office is requesting the Board of Supervisors approve a resolution formally establishing the benefits afforded to County of Tehama Department Heads who have been appointed as Elected Officials. For purposes of the resolution, this includes Assessor, Auditor-Controller, Clerk-Recorder, District Attorney, Sheriff - Coroner, and Treasurer-Tax Collector. Previously, benefits have been outlined in the Elected Official Salary Ordinance, as well as in the Personnel Rules, and the Tehama County Charter and Code. If approved, this resolution will provide certain benefits, establish certain conditions of employment, and set working conditions for Elected Officials in an easily accessible, clear and concise format.

Further, the Tehama County Personnel Office is requesting the Board of Supervisors approve an action to apply the provision outlined in Section 2: Sick Leave Accrual retroactively to the Elected Officials listed in Section b).
