Financial Impact:
The Department will utilize AB443 funds for this purchase, and as such, there will be no financial impact on the General Fund.
Background Information:
The Sheriff’s Office recently purchased a new vehicle, and this transfer will be used to purchase and install a camper shell for the vehicle. The camper shell will provide secure, weather-resistant storage for equipment and supplies necessary for the vehicle’s intended use.
The addition of the camper shell will enhance the vehicle’s functionality by providing additional protected storage capacity while keeping equipment organized, secure, and readily accessible. This upfitting is necessary to ensure the vehicle is appropriately equipped to meet the operational needs of the Sheriff’s Office. Upfitting a vehicle involves customizing or augmenting the vehicle based on its intended use and operational requirements.
