Financial Impact:
This is a receivable to the Agency in the amount of $1,211,377.11, for FY 25/26.
Background Information:
The California Home Visiting Program (CHVP) is designed to provide evidence-based home visiting for overburdened families who are at risk for Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs), including child maltreatment, domestic violence, substance abuse and mental illness. Home visiting gives parents the tools and know-how to independently raise their children. It’s a preventive intervention focused on promoting positive parenting and child development.
If not approved, the Health Services Agency may not have the funding necessary to provide home visiting programs that promote maternal health and well-being, improve infant and child health and development, strengthen family functioning, and cultivate strong communities.
