Financial Impact:
The financial impact for this request is approximately $13,872.32. This reflects a ten percent (10%) increase in gross pay for the period 9/15/25 through 7/8/26. There is no impact to the General Fund.

Background Information:
The Social Services Director is requesting to reclassify the position of Chief Deputy Director of Social Services to Assistant Director of Social Services.

The title change aligns with other positions used in Social Services Departments throughout other comparator counties and will help in clarifying the role for future class and compensation studies. This change will also provide clarity to the community as to the role of the individual within the chain of command and that services provided are not related to law enforcement, which has been an assumption in the past.

Additionally, due to the consolidation of the Public Guardian office into the Social Services Department, additional work has since been shifted to this role. As a result of the increased workload, the Social Services Director is proposing a salary increase of 10% (from Salary Range 60 to S...
