Financial Impact:
Costs will be paid utilizing Drug Medi-Cal, AB 109 or CalWORKs funds allocated for medically necessary services and/or Behavioral Health Services Act funds. There is no impact to the General Fund.
Background Information:
This is a renewal Agreement with Aegis Treatment Centers as our Narcotic Treatment Program (NTP) provider required by the Department of Health Care Services (DHCS) for our Drug Medi-Cal (DMC) Program. NTPs provide opioid medication assisted treatment.
Treatment must be provided by a Licensed Narcotic Replacement Therapy (NRT) Program, and is combined with substance use disorder counseling, medical screening/treatment, and behavioral health services for a comprehensive and effective patient care plan.
If this Agreement is not approved, the Agency may not be in compliance with the DHCS contract requirements for NTP services and may be required to forfeit funding.
