a) AGREEMENT - Request approval and authorization for the Interim Executive Director to sign Amendment No.1 to Misc. Agree. 2024-195, with Thomas Milam MD, Inc. dba Iris Telehealth Medical Group, for the purpose of locating and arranging for Telepsychiatry Adult Psychiatrists, Telepsychiatry Child Psychiatrists, Telepsychiatry Nurse Practitioners, Telepsychiatry Licensed Marriage & Family Therapists, Telepsychiatry Licensed Clinical Social Workers, and Telepsychiatry Licensed Professional Clinical Counselors to provide locum tenens medical services, thereby increasing the compensation amount not to exceed $780,000, with a term of 7/1/24 through 6/30/26 (Subject to receipt of required insurance documentation)

Financial Impact:
The maximum compensation is increasing by $250,000. Budget unit is 40131 for Mental Health. Services will be paid for with Mental Health Realignment, Mental Health Services Act (MHSA) and Short-Doyle Medi Cal funds allocated for medically necessary services. There is no impact to the General Fund.

Background Information:
On 6/25/24, the Board of Supervisors approved the Misc. Agreement #2024-195 with Iris Telehealth Medical Group for the purpose of locating and arranging for Telepsychiatry Adult Psychiatrists, Telepsychiatry Child Psychiatrists, Telepsychiatry Nurse Practitioners, Telepsychiatry Licensed Marriage & Family Therapists, Telepsychiatry Licensed Clinical Social Workers, and Telepsychiatry Licensed Professional Clinical Counselors to provide medical services for the Department during periods of staffing shortages or vacation coverage. In the past, the Department has utilized the placement services of locum tenens companies due to the shortage of these specialty professionals employed by the County. Amendment No.1 increases the total maximum compensation by $250,000. This is a vital service for meeting client needs in Mental Health.
