Financial Impact:
$200 to establish the Cash Change Fund will be paid from an account in Fund 105 that will be established by the Auditor upon approval of this action.
Background Information:
The Fire Marshal’s office has customers who prefer to pay cash for various fees (building projects, setbacks, tract maps, rezoning, fireworks permits, etc) and we do not have the ability to make change. Our two most utilized fees are $223 and $724 and most customers do not have the exact figures. To provide prompt, efficient service, we aim to assist customers even when they don't have exact figures on hand. Our goal is to eliminate unnecessary delays caused by requiring customers to leave and return with specific dollar amounts.
