Financial Impact:
Approximately $10,000 was approved in the 25/26 recommended budget for the purchase of electronic campaign filing software.
Background Information:
Government Code section 84615 authorizes the County to adopt an ordinance requiring online filing of documents required under Chapter 4 of the Political Reform Act. Making this change and the purchase of a software system will assist the County in complying with online access requirements and provide greater transparency to the public. The software will also ease the burden on filers as they will have greater access to submit their documents online.
