a)                     AGREEMENT - Request approval and authorization for the Tehama County Health Services Agency (TCHSA) to submit a revised Scope of Work (SOW) and Budget Plan to the California Department of Public Health (CDPH) California Tobacco Control Program (CTCP) for a two (2) year extension to the current Scope of Work plan that was set to close on 6/30/25, and will now be set to close on 6/30/27

Financial Impact:

There is no impact on the County General Fund. This action provides revenue for an additional two (2) years to the Tehama County Health Services Agency - Public Health Division to support tobacco control activities, in the amount of $300,000 for FY 2025-26, and $300,000 for FY 2026-27.

 

Background Information:

The Comprehensive Tobacco Control Plan allocation from the State of California is an ongoing allocation and is being extended for an additional 2 years. This program provides local assistance to fund the Tehama County Health Services Agency's (TCHSA) efforts to carry out tobacco control objectives countywide. If this action is not granted, TCHSA will lose the ability to provide various activities, including but not limited to, tobacco education, community prevention activities, outreach to create smoke-free zones and reduce advertising of tobacco products.
