recommendation

a) AGREEMENT - Request approval and authorization for the Chief Administrator to sign the Amendment to Miscellaneous Agreement 2023-114 with Lenders Construction Services, LLC for the Tehama County Re-Entry Facility, thereby increasing the total compensation to not exceed $1,762,398, for a total increase of $269,498 (Subject to receipt of required insurance documentation)

body

Financial Impact:

The increase in cost for this agreement is within the project budget.

Background Information:

The County previously entered into an agreement with Lenders Construction Services, LLC to provide project management services for the Jail Re-Entry Facility Project. The original contract, approved on April 25, 2023, established a not to exceed amount based on the anticipated scope of work and project schedule at that time.

As the project progressed, it became evident that the project duration would extend beyond the original timeframe due to both unanticipated conditions and requested changes. This is necessary to maintain project continuity and ensure timely completion of the project as well as having the project manager continue providing services beyond the initially authorized contract amount.

Because the cumulative cost of these additional services exceeds the original contract limit, an amendment is required to appropriately compensate the project manager for work already performed and to authorize funding necessary for the remaining project tasks. Amending the agreement will formalize the updated scope, ensure compliance with County contracting requirements, and allow the project to move forward without disruption.
