Background Information:

The Resource Conservation District of Tehama County (RCDTC) has been partnering with Crane Mills on multiple phases of CAL FIRE Forest Health Grants and is currently working to address roadside tree hazards within the Mendocino National Forest, as well as preparing a Workforce Development Grant proposal. This project would support the acquisition of an excavator and specialized attachments to safely conduct roadside operations while minimizing impacts to road infrastructure. The equipment will be used for hazard tree abatement, fuel reduction, and mechanical forest management activities within the Mendocino National Forest and surrounding lands.

Overall, the project aims to improve public safety, enhance wildfire resilience, support emergency access, and promote sustainable forest management and local economic activity.
