The Chair and Vice Chair requested this letter be drafted and brought before the Board for consideration.
Senate Bill 16 would require counties to contribute 50% of the expected costs to operate city homeless shelters. This bill creates an unfunded mandate and will redirect the County’s funding away from health and human services and permanent housing efforts.
