Background Information:
The Tehama County Planning Department requests approval to revise the Planning Technician I/II classification specification. The proposed revision would remove the requirement for experience specifically within a planning office and replace it with general administrative support experience. The Department believes this experience requirement is appropriate for the entry-level nature of the position and would broaden the pool of qualified candidates. Additional miscellaneous revisions were made to ensure consistency with County formatting and language.
There is no request to amend the salary with the proposed revision.
The Joint Council bargaining unit was notified of the requested action and is in agreement.
