a) AGREEMENT - Request approval and authorization for the Social Services Director to sign the Agreement with Empower Tehama for the purpose of providing Domestic Abuse Counseling and Treatment Services to CalWORKs recipients, with the maximum compensation not to exceed $360,000, effective 7/1/25 and shall terminate 6/30/27 (Subject to receipt of required insurance documentation)

Financial Impact:
The cost of this agreement is anticipated in the FY 25/26 and 26/27 Budget in 5013-53230, Professional and Special Services, and is reimbursable through the CalWORKs Single Allocation. No impact to the general fund.
Background Information:
This is a contract renewal. Empower Tehama provides a full-time Domestic Violence Advocate, co-located at the CalWORKs Employment Services office, to provide participants with education on domestic abuse, counseling, advocacy, and referrals to appropriate services as needed and to increase opportunities for successful transition to suitable gainful employment. In addition, Empower Tehama will provide a .5 FTE Group Facilitator for support groups, counseling, therapy, and support to Social Services staff in identifying domestic abuse and in developing appropriate services to assist with removal of domestic abuse issues.
