a) AGREEMENT - Request approval and authorization for the Director or their designee to sign the Agreement with Northern Valley Catholic Social Service (NVCSS) for the purpose of providing CalWORKs participants with skills needed for success in the workplace, assistance in successfully obtaining employment, job retention and career advancement, with a maximum compensation not to exceed $415,326, effective 7/1/26 and shall terminate 6/30/29 (Subject to receipt of required insurance documentation)

Financial Impact:
Sufficient funds are included in the FY 26-27 budget in 5013-53230. These activities are funded through the CalWORKs Single Allocation, which is Federal funding. There is no impact to the General Fund.
Background Information:
This is a renewal. NVCSS provides a program to teach CalWORKs participants the skills needed to get a job, stay employed, and balance the demands of work and home. This is done through a Job Skills Workshop which includes one-on-one technical assistance, English as a Second Language (ESL) and assistance with the Employment Services Achieve classes which teach skills around interviewing and resume building.
