Financial Impact:

This grant agreement provides $32,987.33 funding for implementation and enforcement of AB-617 Nonvehicular air pollution: criteria air pollutants and toxic air contaminants. No match funding is required.

Background Information:

Assembly Bill 617 (AB 617) was signed into law by the Governor on July 26, 2017. AB 617’s goal is to improve air quality in communities most impacted by air pollution. This grant provides funding for implementation of AB 617 which may support developing the schedule of Best Available Retrofit Control Technology and developing Community Emissions Reduction Programs which includes efforts to improve community capacity to participate in the process and determination of sources of air pollution exposure developing rules and more. Adopting the resolution and approval of the APCO to accept the grant award will enable the District to offset the cost to implement the mandates of AB617.
