a) AGREEMENT / RESOLUTION - Request approval and authorization for the Fire Chief to sign and execute Grant Agreement #7FG25116, and adoption of a Resolution signed by the Chair and a member of the Board, with the Department of Forestry and Fire Protection relative to disbursement of Volunteer Fire Capacity funds for the purchase of PPE with the maximum amount not to exceed $20,000, effective upon the last signatory date and shall terminate 8/31/26

Financial Impact:
This grant requires a 50/50 match. Grant provides funding of $20,000 with an additional $21,454.00 from budget unit 2042, account 2042-5110.
Background Information:
Previously known as the Volunteer Fire Assistance Grant and the Rural Fire Capacity Grant, the Fire Department has been receiving this grant for 20+ years.
The Board gave their approval to apply for the Grant on May 20, 2025. Grant funds were awarded late in the year, so the Grant period has been extended through 8/31/2026 as indicated in the Resolution.
Grant award will help fund the purchase of fire protection gear for the Tehama County Volunteers, including structure jackets and pants.
