Funding for 5050 Juvenile Court Wards Account 55400, Support and Care, is budgeted through the General Fund for fiscal year 2025-2026.
Background Information:
On April 7th, 2026, the Tehama County Superior Court ordered the placement of a juvenile in custody as recommended by the Tehama County Probation Department in collaboration with Far Northern Regional Center. The minor’s current placement with the minor’s guardian proved insufficient to meet the minor’s needs and the program at Remi Vista specializes in treating such needs. The original intent was to sign a contract for the anticipated duration of no longer than 24 months. The original agreement request was pulled from the meeting agenda due to the minor leaving Remi Vista earlier than scheduled, and the Probation Department was sorting out the details. Because the term is officially ended and the minor will not be returning to Remi Vista, Probation has been invoiced for and is only seeking to pay the amount incurred for the dates the youth was placed.
