Financial Impact:

The Butte Call Center fields calls for Tehama County DCSS at no cost which provides a staffing cost savings for the Department.

 

Background Information:

Since the Department’s fire in July 2012, Tehama County Child Support Services has entered into a MOU with Butte County Department of Child Support Services for their call center to field the Department’s phone calls through the statewide 1-866-901-3212 number. Using the statewide number is considered an industry standard.

 

Each month, the Butte Call Center fields 300-400 calls for Tehama DCSS.  The collaboration is a great resource savings for the Department, and they provide a high quality product for us.

 

In addition to the statewide number, the public may instantly chat with a Child Support Specialist from the landing page of the Department website.  Employers are given direct access to the receptionist’s phone number, and our community partners utilize direct lines to staff.
