Financial Impact:

Amendment #1 provides a net increase of $44,899 in grant funding that will be used for congregate and home delivered meals within FY 2023/24. These funds require a 10.53% County match. The match is met with the existing County General Fund contribution, as well as donations and fundraising revenues. No impact to the general fund.

Background Information:

The Area 3 Agency on Aging, a program through the Chico State Enterprises, receives a Federal Pass through Award from California Department of Aging to provide services according to Title III and Title VII Programs to meet the needs of California's older adult population. Some of this funding is provided to Tehama County through this subcontract agreement for Tehama County's Senior Nutrition Program - Healthy Connections. The Senior Nutrition Program provides healthy meals each business day to eligible citizens in both a congregate setting and to homebound individuals. Tehama County has been providing this important service for many years.
