a) CHANGE ORDER - Request approval and authorization for the Director to issue Change Order No. 20 to the Agreement with JF Shea Inc. (Road Agreement #2022-23) for the Evergreen Road Bridge Replacement Project, to off-haul excavated material unsuitable for inclusion in the planned embankment, in an amount equal to $33,352.90

b) CHANGE ORDER - Request approval and authorization for the Director to issue Change Order No. 22 to the Agreement with JF Shea Inc. (Road Agreement #2022-23) for the Evergreen Road Bridge Replacement Project, to provide traffic control and replace failed pavement, in an amount equal to $13,621.57

Financial Impact:
The financial impact is $46,974.47. The Construction (CON) phase of this project is funded by a combination of Federal and State funds comprised of STIP and HBP. This project contract is budgeted in the Road Fund, Professional and Special Services Budget Unit #3011-53230. The Board awarded the contract for the Evergreen Road Bridge Replacement Project, Federal Project No. BRLOZB 5908(025), County Project No 316581 to JF Shea Inc. as the low responsive bidder in the amount of $13,958,457 on December 13, 2022 (Road Agreement #2022-23). A 10% contingency, in the amount of $1,395,845.70 was budgeted to the construction contract to address Contract Change Orders and is reimbursable through the project funding. At that time, the Director of Public Works was authorized $210,000 in signature authority for the issuance of Change Orders to the contract, pursuant to Public Contract Code 20405(d)(3).

Approval of these Change Orders would leave a remaining contingency budget of $931,479.10. There is no financial impact to the General Fund.
