recommendation

a) RESOLUTION - Request adoption of a resolution authorizing the Director of Environmental Health to apply for and act on behalf of Tehama County to secure Enforcement Assistance Grant funds (Waste Tire Enforcement) from Department of Resources Recycling and Recovery (CalRecycle) for the 33rd cycle to be used for Surveillance Inspection of Tire Facilities, Outreach and Enforcement programs in the amount of $23,440, for the period of 7/1/26 to 6/30/27

body

Financial Impact:

Requesting and securing the grant funds will facilitate adding the Waste Tire program to the department objectives of public health protection in the Solid Waste program without adding staff.

Background Information:

This grant series is an annual reimbursement grant from CalRecycle that will further augment the department activities in the Solid Waste Enforcement program. Not applying would fail to capture funds that facilitate the program.
