Financial Impact:
There is no financial impact on the General Fund. The funds are being transferred from the PG&E Settlement funds to Boating for the use of radio and communications equipment.
Background Information:
During regular boating patrols, the use of radio and communications equipment is essential for the early detection, reporting, and mitigation of smoke or fire incidents. Boating personnel often patrol remote waterways and shoreline areas where access by land-based units may be limited or unavailable. Early communication also supports the protection of life by enabling timely evacuation of occupants and the coordination of rescue efforts.
