a)                     AGREEMENT - Request approval and authorization for the Sheriff and the Chief Probation Officer to sign the Interagency Memorandum of Understanding for the purpose of providing maintenance on the Juvenile Hall sewage grinder, in the amount of $850 for each maintenance call with a maximum compensation not to exceed $8,000 per year, effective 7/1/25 through 6/30/28

Financial Impact:

The Probation Department will allocate the funds requested for all future fiscal years to pay for these services from budget unit 2036, account 53170. The Sheriff’s Office will collect the revenues from budget unit 2027, account 461070.

 

Background Information:

The Sheriff’s Office has a facilities maintenance employee who was a plumber for Wallner Plumbing for 20+ years and used to perform this very service for the Probation Department. The Sheriff’s Office maintenance team has all the necessary tools to perform the job duties for that service. The cost of this service would save the Probation Department hundreds of dollars over the next few years, and these services will keep the funds within the County instead of contracting out this necessary maintenance service.
