Financial Impact:

Funds are budgeted annually for this work, based on average years. Due to the excessive work required from flooding, the transfer is required to cover the difference. Alternative sources are being sought.

Background Information:

This item was brought to the Board 4/15/25. The Board tabled the approval, and directed staff to explore potential alternatives to a transfer of funds from Contingency. Staff will bring back information about any possibilities.

Each spring, the County of Tehama performs maintenance of the three County-owned boat ramps at Tehama County River Park (Woodson Bridge), Mill Creek Park, and Bend Bridge. In accordance with regulating agency permits, County staff coordinates the removal of silt and debris deposited in the ramps by winter river flows. This year, due to particularly high flows, the ramp at Tehama County River Park has an exceptionally high cost to perform this maintenance. Additional funds are necessary in order to proceed with River Park. Approval of this transfer and agreement will allow the boat ramp to be opened for public access to the Sacramento River at Tehama County River Park.
