The Bissell Pet Foundation Duffield Pet Wellness Days program will pay the veterinarian directly for their participation in vaccination clinics, reducing the impact to the general operating expenses for the Division.
Background Information:
The Division of Animal Services provides periodic, no-cost, pet vaccination clinics at rotating locations throughout Tehama and Glenn Counties, as required by CA Health & Safety Code 121690 (f.) Vaccination clinics require an examination by a licensed veterinarian or licensed registered veterinary technician in order to administer a rabies vaccination. This expenditure is currently part of the Division’s regular operating budget. BISSELL Pet Foundation, through its Duffield Pet Wellness Days program, desires to collaborate with the Division to provide access to veterinary care for pets in the community. Through this partnership, Tehama County Animal Services will coordinate wellness clinics at rotating community locations throughout Tehama and Glenn Counties, helping residents access preventative care closer to home. BISSELL Pet Foundation with coordinate and pay veterinary staff directly, reducing the impact to the Division’s operating budget. Participation in this program will build upon the County’s existing community outreach efforts by expanding access to preventative veterinary care in rural communities.
