Agreement 2024-202 with Psynergy Programs Inc. for the purpose of providing long-term care for adults with serious mental illness in need of high-level placements, in the amount not to exceed $450,000 during any fiscal year, with a total maximum compensation not to exceed $900,000, effective 7/1/24 and shall terminate 6/30/26, thereby amending the rates in Exhibit B and C (Subject to receipt of required insurance documentation)

body

Financial Impact:

Budget Unit is 40131 for Mental Health. There is no change in the total compensation amount. Services will be paid for with Mental Health realignment and/or Mental Health Services Act (MHSA) funds allocated for medically necessary services. There is no impact to the general fund.

Background Information:

The is Amendment No. 1 to the Misc. Agreement 2024-202, which was reviewed and approved at the Board of Supervisors meeting on 6/25/24. This vendor provides long-term care for adults with serious mental illness. Placement is difficult for clients who need specialized residential care services.

This Amendment No. 1 replaces Exhibits B and C of the agreement to update the rates for FY 25/26. There is no change to the maximum compensation amount.

If this Amendment No. 1 to the agreement is not approved, clients who could be serviced by this facility would not be able to be placed there. There are very limited options for client care in facilities with the services this vendor offers. The Health Services Agency would need to continue the search for adequate facilities for clients with specialty needs which would continue disruption in much needed services and delays for mental health clients of Tehama County.
