a) AGREEMENT - Request approval and authorization for the Interim Executive Director to sign Amendment No. 1 to Misc. Agreement 2024-196 with Casa Serenity, LLC for the purpose of providing licensed residential care services to certain mentally ill adult residents of Tehama County, thereby amending Exhibit C to update the rates for Fiscal Year 26/27, with the total maximum compensation not to exceed $1,500,000, effective 7/1/24 and shall terminate 6/30/27

Financial Impact:
Costs of services will be paid for with Mental Health realignment funds and/or Mental Health Services Act dollars allocated for medically necessary services. Budget Unit is 40131 for Mental Health. There is no impact to the General Fund.
Background Information:
This is Amendment No.1 to Misc. Agreement 2024-196, which was reviewed and approved by the Board of Supervisors on 6/25/24, to provide residential care services to residents of Tehama County. This Agreement allows the Department to place clients in a residential care facility which is located here in Tehama County. These board and care services are a necessary step in returning clients from higher placement levels. Amendment No.1 updates Exhibit C to include rates for Fiscal Year 26/27. There is no change to the compensation amount or term of the Agreement.
If this Amendment is not approved, the Department will need to find another comparable facility to place clients, which could result in lengthy negotiations. This could cause disruption and delays in services, as well as clients being placed at greater distances from family.
