Financial Impact:
This Amendment increases the receivable funding to the Tehama County Health Services Agency by $72,579, bringing the maximum funding amount to $3,047,232.
Background Information:
On September 9, 2025, the Board of Supervisors approved the original WIC Funding Agreement (Misc. Agree. #2025-287), and Amendment No.1 (Misc. Agree. #2026-094) on April 28, 2026, for Federal Fiscal Years (FFY) 2025-2028.
TCHSA Public Health has been operating this Tehama County program since 2003. This program provides funding to administer the WIC program, a federally funded health and nutrition program. WIC helps families by providing funds for buying healthy supplemental foods from WIC authorized vendors, nutrition education and referral to healthcare and other community services. Participants must meet income guidelines and be pregnant women, new mothers, infants, or children under the age of five.
This Amendment increases funds in FFY’s 2025-26, 2026-27, and 2027-28, by $24,193 per fiscal year, to accommodate anticipated expenses with the addition of one new subcontractor.
If this item is not approved, the Department would not have the necessary resources to coordinate this public health program for our community.
