Requested Action(s)

recommendation

a)                     AGREEMENT - Request approval and authorization for the Director of Animal Services to sign the Agreement with Valley Vet Clinic RB, Inc., for the purpose of providing dog and cat spay and neuter services for the amounts as listed with a maximum amount not to exceed $100,000, effective 11/1/24 and shall terminate 10/31/25

body

Financial Impact:

Surgeries will only be performed on dogs and cats that have been adopted or selected for adoption. The Division of Animal Services will collect the appropriate spay/neuter fee from an adopter upon the actual adoption of a dog or cat from the Tehama County Animal Care Center.

Background Information:

Historically, the department has entered into an agreement with Valley Vet Clinic RB, Inc., to perform these services. Without an approved agreement dogs and cats would not be spayed or neutered prior to release to their adopters. The Care Center will continue to collect and reimburse spay and neuter deposits from and to adopters. The requested action will result in more dog and cat spays and neuters and will decrease accounting practices needed to collect and reimburse spay and neuter deposits.
