Background Information:

In December of 2024, the applicant Donald Palmquist, submitted a petition requesting the Tehama County Public Works Department vacate approximately 0.09 miles of Farquhar Road. Farquhar Road was accepted as a county road on April 12, 1978, per Book 5 of Parcel Maps, page 8. The Farquhar Road vacation request was presented to the Planning Commission on April 3, 2025.

The Planning Commission Findings:

A. Adopted the finding that the Farquhar Road Vacation Project is CEQA exempt per Section15305; minor alterations in land use limitations; and

B. Adopted a finding that the Farquhar Road vacation project is consistent with the Tehama County General Plan 2009-2029 pursuant to the Findings attached in Attachment A.

Tehama County Public Works recommends that the portion of Farquhar Road be vacated as it;

1. Is not required for road purposes.

A public hearing date was set at the Board of Supervisors meeting held on May 13, 2025, per Resolution No. 2025-30. The date set for the hearing to vacate Farquhar Road is June 10, 2025, at 1:30 p.m. in Board Chambers.
