Background Information:

This applicant holds an AA degree in Anthropology, AA degree in Sociology, AA degree in Behavioral Science, and a Bachelor’s degree in Anthropology.  The applicant also holds certification in Forensic Science.  Additional training consists of Advanced Archaeological Field training, Biological Anthropology, Human identification, surveying of Forensic Science, Criminology, Genetics, Advanced Field Archaeology, Human Genetics, and Chemistry. Furthermore, the applicant has extensive experience with Adobe, IBM statistical software, Google workspace, and Microsoft 365 and is fluent in Spanish.

 

During the applicant’s application process, this agency received 3 letters of recommendation from PHD Chico State Professors including the Director of the Human Identification Laboratory: all highly recommending the applicant for the position of Deputy Coroner.  

 

In consulting with the applicant, she cannot accept employment as a deputy coroner without minimally being brought in at step 3.  Anything below step 3 would be a reduction in what the applicant is currently being paid.

 

This agency believes that step 3 would be the most appropriate range for this candidate based on her training, education, and experience.

 

The Personnel Office has reviewed the applicant’s qualifications and is in agreement with placement at Range 29, Step 3 upon successful completion of all pre-employment requirements.
