body
Financial Impact:
This Memorandum of Understanding does not include compensation. It is solely intended for the coordination of services and the sharing of data.
Background Information:
As part of the State Department of Health Care Services’ (DHCS) California Advancing and Innovating Medi-Cal (CalAIM) Justice Involved Pre-release initiative, county welfare departments are required to enter into data sharing agreements with county correctional facilities to coordinate Medi-Cal enrollment for inmates and youth prior to their release. DHCS also requires county correctional facilities to agree to the Medi-Cal Privacy and Security Agreement that already exists between DHCS and county welfare departments. This is to protect the Medi-Cal personally identifiable information of people enrolling in Medi-Cal. This MOU meets all of these requirements, and includes the Medi-Cal Privacy and Security Agreement as an exhibit.
