Financial Impact:
The requested action will result in an increase to the FY 25/26 Probation budget (2037) by approximately $21,901.
Background Information:
On June 24, 2025, the Board approved an amendment to the Probation Department’s Position Allocation List (PAL) by adding a Deputy Probation Officer IV (Limited Term) allocation with a sunset date of December 31, 2025. This allocation was established to address operational challenges resulting from an employee’s extended medical leave, which left the Department short-staffed in a critical supervisory role. Due to a pending Industrial Disability Retirement (IDR) determination, it is necessary to extend the sunset date from December 31, 2025, to March 1, 2026.
The Tehama County Peace Officers’ Association has been notified and is in agreement with the requested action.
