Background Information:
August is Child Support Awareness Month, an annual time to raise awareness about a critical income support program that helps millions of children and families. In FY 2023, child support programs nationwide collected $29.6 billion and served 1 in 5 children in the United States. This kind of support helps families thrive and sets kids up to succeed.
This year’s Child Support Awareness Month theme is “Shelter. Safety. Solutions. Support.” During Child Support Awareness Month, it is important to remember that every family, in all their diverse shapes and sizes, has the resources to provide shelter and safety to their kids, and California Child Support Services is here to provide the solutions and support to help make that happen.
The Tehama County Department of Child Support Services requests the Board of Supervisors consider proclaiming August 2024 as Child Support Awareness Month.
