Financial Impact:
Funding for this position is included in the FY 2024-25 budgets for Budget Units 40131 and 40261. The salary for the position, classified at Range 39, Step C, is $35.95 per hour. The Department currently has multiple vacancies in this classification, which are expected to result in salary savings during the current fiscal year.
Background Information:
The candidate has been a Licensed Vocational Nurse for over 25 years with a wide variety of skilled nursing experience in different environments including long-term care as well as three years of experience working with the former Department of Mental Health including correctional experience with the state prison. This behavioral health related experience included psychiatric inpatient.
If the requested action is not approved, the County will lose the opportunity to hire a highly qualified applicant in this position. The Department has had ongoing recruitments for the Institutional Licensed Crisis Health Worker I/II position for the past year and has multiple vacancies.
The Personnel Office has reviewed the candidate’s education and experience and is in agreement with the proposed salary step placement contingent upon successful completion of all pre-employment requirements.
