b) TRANSFER OF FUNDS - TREASURER/TAX COLLECTOR, B-5, from Contingency (1109-59000) to Other Fees (1022-461060) $4,000; and from Contingency (1109-59000) to Travel (1022-53290) $4,000 (Requires a 4/5's vote)

Financial Impact:
The treasury department is self-funded through the treasury pool and will be paying for most of these travel expenses as listed in the attachment. The only cost to the General Fund will be $272.00 for per diem meals that have already been included in the approved travel budget for 1073 - General Services.

Background Information:
This is a request to increase travel expenses by $4,000. The County has a unique opportunity to attend the GovAI Summit in October for free. This increase would cover the travel costs associated with attending the summit. This opportunity wasn't anticipated when crafting the original budget David Bliss and I applied for and received complementary passes, saving the county over $1,000 in registration fees each.

GovAI is focused on Federal, State, and Local government with an impressive list of sessions and speakers.

I am very interested in learning more about this space and implementing AI solutions to increase staff productivity in my office. My colleagues are also starting to dip their toes into what AI has to offer local government. I recently went to a meeting in Redding on AI and discovered that our county is already woefully behind the AI curve when compared to small and medium business in our area.

David Bliss is the perfect person to bring along to this event, his participation will directly support and influence my decisions when evaluating which AI solutions might be appropriate for my offic...
