Financial Impact:
The cost for this vehicle purchase was requested and approved during the FY 25-26 Mid-Year Fiscal process and has been included in the Department Operational Budget; 1074-57605.
Background Information:
On 3/10/2026 the Purchasing Department advertised for bid, one (1) new 1-ton 4x4 crew cab long bed pickup truck. At bid opening on 3/20/2026 the Purchasing Department received five bids. The lowest responsive bid was Red Bluff Dodge. The County’s Local Vendor Preference Ordinance was not applicable to this bid as the low bid was an in-County vendor.
The request for one (1) new 1-ton 4x4 crew cab truck is to replace an aging 2007 Ford Escape. This Ford Escape is the oldest vehicle in our fleet that is used daily. This will also allow us to pull our oldest 1-ton truck, a 2007 Ford F-350, off pulling our heavy tractor and allow the Department access to a crew-cab and 4x4, which we do not currently have.
