body

Financial Impact:

This transfer is needed due to a budget shortfall in our FY 2025/2026 Travel Expenditures Budget and due to a last minute, required Entry Level Advocacy Training for our new Victim Advocate. This training takes place on June 22-26, 2026 and was recently re-opened for registration. This is 100% funded by the CalOES Victim-Witness Grant.  There is no financial impact to the General Fund.

Background Information:

This training is a requirement by CalOES for all new Victim Advocates.  This training is scheduled randomly, with no guarantee of additional trainings offered throughout the year. This training is provided by CCVAA (California Crime Victims Assistance Association) and NOVA (National Organization of Victim Advocacy). The $4,000 will cover the cost of this training as well as the current budget shortfall.
