recommendation

a) AGREEMENT - Request approval and authorization for the Chief Deputy Director to sign Standard Agreement 26F-5049 between the Tehama County Community Action Agency and the California Department of Community Services and Development, to receive Community Services Block Grant (CSBG) funds in an amount not to exceed $302,929, effective 1/1/26 through 4/30/27

body

Financial Impact:

The Community Services Block Grant (CSBG) for calendar year 2026 is $302,929. Because this grant operates on a calendar year basis, the CSBG revenue anticipated in the Fiscal Year (FY) 2025/26 adopted budget is approximately $151,465. The remaining balance of this CSBG grant is $151,464 and will be budgeted in FY 2026/27. CSBG revenue is budgeted in 5062-4507200. There is no impact to the County General Fund.

Background Information:

Community Action Agency (CAA) receives Community Services Block Grant (CSBG) funding on an annual basis and is required to enter into agreements with the State of California Community Services and Development (CSD) to receive funding. CAA will use these funds to address the needs of low-income individuals and families in Tehama County through the support of CAA staff and administration of programs in the areas of food, housing, education, and family development.

Resolution #2024-094 authorizes the Executive Director of the Community Action Agency to sign all CSD contracts, agreements, memoranda of understanding and other documents, with any agreements coming back to the Board for approval on a subsequent agenda.
