a) AGREEMENT - Request approval and authorization for the Chief Probation Officer to sign the Agreement with Inmate Phone Services (ITS), to provide secure and reliable local and long-distance telephone service to inmates at the County’s Juvenile Detention Facility, in which ITS will pay the County a 30% commission of the gross revenues received each month, maximum compensation shall not exceed $30,000, effective 1/1/24 and shall terminate 12/31/24

Financial Impact:
This is a collect telephone system that provides the County with a monthly commission payment and a statement indicating a breakdown of fees, revenues and call times. The fees collected will be paid into the Probation Officers Trust Fund 415 and the money will be used to benefit the wards in the Juvenile Detention Facility.
Background Information:
The system provides a fully operational, secure and reliable phone service. The Internet web-based application allows Probation employees to control youth usage. The agreement is inclusive of all equipment, installation, infrastructure and network, training, operation, and ongoing repairs and maintenance of the entire system and its components.
